Mr Thomas Rufford: Postdoctoral Research fellow at the Division of Chemical Engineering at the University of QueenslandAustralian

Research work focus on developing an integrated (pulsed corona discharges) plasma catalyst process, which can effectively remove NOx and SOx simultaneously without ammonia injection, another work is to investigate nanostructured carbon and magnesium materials for hydrogen storage and electrochemical energy storage, targeted at applications for hybrid electric fuel cell vehicles. 2).Visiting researcher at the Advanced Carbon Division, Shenyang National Laboratory of Materials Science, Institute of Metals Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China.

3).Process Engineer: Shell Refining Australia, Geelong Refinery, Victoria, Australia

Dr.Thomas Rufford: 澳大利亚昆士兰大学化工系博士、博士后。研究方向:等离子体/催化方法实现多种污染物协同脱除的技术研究,储氢、储能材料的研究(纳米碳和镁材料)。曾担任日本筑波国家高等工业科学和技术研究所,中科院沈阳金属所访问学者,曾在澳大利亚shell炼油公司就职多年。

Dr. Thomas Rufford “中澳青年科学家交流计划”8位澳方优秀青年科学家之一,应邀来中国交流访问。“中澳青年科学家交流计划”是根据20064月温家宝总理访澳期间由科技部与澳大利亚教育、科学与培训部签署的《中澳青年科学家交流计划执行协议》设立的科研交流项目。每年双方从相关重点领域分别选派8名青年科学家赴对方国交流,为期两周。
